Revitalize Your Skin with Excel V Vascular Laser Treatments

excel® V laser treatment gets the red out

Are you worried about a ruddy complexion or visible small veins? You are not the only one! Plenty of patients, including both men and women, are seeking ways to improve the appearance of their skin. Thankfully, Dr. Jeanine Downie offers a safe and reliable solution that is adaptable for all skin types. She provides the Excel V laser treatment at Image Dermatology in Montclair, New Jersey.

What is the Excel V vascular laser?

Dermatology lasers are not a one-size-fits-all solution. Each one is specifically developed to target blood vessels and some pigmentation. The treatment also aids in improving sun-damaged skin, lessening pores, softening lines and wrinkles, and improving overall skin tone and texture. The Excel V is classified as a vascular laser due to its dual-wavelength Nd: YAG technology, which addresses the red, brown, purple, and blue pigments in the skin. These colors often represent visible blood vessels and veins–typical skin concerns.

What can the Excel V vascular laser treat?

Dr. Downie is a board-certified dermatologist who uses this vascular laser treatment to treat various skin conditions such as:

  • Vascular lesions. This includes anything from increased capillaries (which could be raised or flat) to birthmarks like hemangioma and port-wine stains.
  • Rosacea. Persistent blushing, flushing, visible veins, blemishes, and rough skin texture.
  • Diffuse redness. A broad area of visible capillaries under the skin.
  • Telangiectasias. Thin red patterns or spots commonly visible on the nose, cheeks, chin, and mucous membranes.
  • Sun damage and broken blood vessels. The Excel V laser treatments can minimize these issues with multiple 10-minute treatments.

What can I expect during my Excel V laser treatments in Montclair, New Jersey?

An Excel V treatment lasts less than 10 minutes and is gentle enough not to need a topical anesthetic. You will initially feel a warm sensation as the handpiece moves over the area and a mild sting when the light pulses enter your skin. After the treatment, we apply a moisturizer and sunblock to the skin. You are free to wear makeup and resume your typical daily activities post-treatment. This treatment is designed to improve sun-damaged skin’s condition, not enhance it.

What is Excel® V Laser Treatment? And what areas is it used for? Watch the video to learn more as the leading dermatologist Dr. Jeanine Downie from Image Dermatology ® P.C. explains all about it.

What is Excel® V Laser Treatment? And what areas is it used for?
Excel® V laser treatment is a fabulous laser at image dermatology and has been used for years. It decreases broken blood vessels all over the face. On a different wavelength, it reduces brown spots all over the face.
On another wavelength, it decreases hair growth in lighter and darker-skinned individuals, which is simply fantastic.
It is also used to treat angiomas, port wine stains, scars, hardened hair bumps in the hairline, chest, trunk, or back.

How is the Excel® V laser treatment procedure performed?
Excel® V is used as a sweeping motion that the doctor will do on your face trying to decrease your broken blood vessels.
It can pinch and sting a bit but is comfortable. After the procedure is over, you might be a little reddish for maybe an hour, and it goes away very fast.
You will not have those deep purple bruises from yesteryear on your face anymore, which is a good thing.

What is the duration of Excel® V laser treatment?
Every procedure is different. If you have a very thin scar, it will be three treatment sessions. If you have thicker scars, perhaps it is 10- plus treatment sessions.
After that, three times a year for maintenance or once every four months for maintenance.

How long will it take to see the Excel V vascular laser treatment results?

Optimal results typically require multiple treatment sessions spaced roughly one month apart. Broken blood vessels and brown spots may appear to recur in some cases, as aging and sun damage are chronic conditions that are a constant in everyone. Additionally, new spots may emerge over time and can be treated when they appear.

Dr. Jeanine Downie uses the Excel V laser on a patient in this video whilst explaining its benefit in toning collagen production during the removal of hair growth. It can be used on a variety of skin types from much lighter skin like Caucasian skin to medium brown or even deeper and darker skin tones.

Hey Instagram fans, good morning, happy Friday, we are here with one of my favorite laser patients doing a little laser cleanup on a Friday. So this is the excel V Laser, it’s fabulous, it’s great for all skin types, my patients just love it. It helps in terms of building colla-gen while it’s removing the hair, so it’s actually a double-dip. So what you’re doing is you’re ac-tually toning the collagen while you’re taking off hair. It’s great for medium-brown skin types to brown skin types, we use it on Caucasians, super, super light people as well for broken blood ves-sels, so please watch and please enjoy.

Explanatory video for you to watch of a patient experiencing hair bumps treatment with dermatologist Dr Jeanine Downie of Image Dermatology in Montclair NJ

Hey, Image Dermatology fans! Happy Friday! Here with one of my lovely patients that doesn’t want to be identified. Doing some hair bumps on the back of his neck—it is called ileocolitis it is the inflammation of the hair follicles. It is annoying and they swarm down and they cause keloids. You see them in black men, white men, latino men and Asian men as well. So anybody who gets them—you see them more in black men—they are super frustrating and then they can grow together and form one big giant keloid or one big hunk of scar tissue that nobody wants or need. So if you come to me, you have your board-certified dermatologist with a proper laser for your skin, you get scalp injections; you get laser and it melts slowly. It is a slow process, so please watch and learn.
