What to expect
Before scheduling treatment, we start with an examination and consultation. A series of treatments will be needed to achieve optimal results. For most patients, it takes six or more appointments, usually scheduled about a month apart. Immediately after the injection, you may experience some discomfort, tenderness and stinging for 20 to 30 minutes. This sensation will subside when you place ice on the skin. It is an indication that the fat cells underneath your skin are breaking apart. These normal side effects should fade within a few hours. As swelling subsides, some patients notice an improvement after just one to two weeks.
With each subsequent treatment, the improvement will be more pronounced. Full results develop within about three months after the final session.
