What is Fraxel?
The development of fractionated laser treatment revolutionized skin resurfacing, with amazing results and minimal risk or downtime. This type of laser can target a specific skin flaw, without affecting the healthy tissue, which minimizes treatment time and recovery.

Due to the immense popularity of this treatment, there are now many companies marketing similar systems, though Fraxel was a pioneer in technology. We are proud to offer genuine Fraxel Re:Store here at image Dermatology ® P.C..

What treatment can accomplish
This gentle yet powerful laser can target a variety of skin concerns including:

  • Acne scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Sun damage
  • Brown spots, such as age spots or sun spots
  • Fine lines and wrinkles, particularly those in the eye area and on the cheeks
  • Hyperpigmentation such as melasma (pregnancy mask)
  • Rejuvenation of the neck and upper chest

What to expect
Fraxel Re:Store encourages cellular rejuvenation, replacing damaged cells with fresh, new, smooth skin. The result is a softer texture, more even tone, and healthier complexion. The procedure is fast and gentle, usually taking about 15 minutes for each treatment area. A topical anesthetic is applied prior to treatment, to ensure your comfort.

After treatment, you may notice some swelling or redness. This is normal, and it should resolve in two or three days. We recommend using a moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated. You will also need to be diligent with sun protection because fresh new skin is tender. If possible, it is best to avoid mid-day sun exposure (between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm). When you are outdoors, wear protective clothing such as a wide-brimmed hat and long sleeves. Be sure to wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF rating of at least 30. Dr. Downie uses the Fraxel to keep her complexion even and free of melasma.

If you are interested in revealing your most beautiful skin, with minimal discomfort or downtime, call image Dermatology ® P.C. at (973) 509-6900 and ask about Fraxel Re:Store.
