Dr. Downie is a highly sought after lecturer who enjoys an excellent national and international reputation. She shares her expertise on a wide variety of topics including cosmetic dermatology,
cosmeceuticals, skin cancer, photoaging, sunblock and skin of color. She is a lecturer, consultant and clinical researcher doing FDA and investigator initiated clinical trials for many of the top tier pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Downie also enjoys teaching other physicians and is an instructor for The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Fillers and Injectables course and is a long standing member of Allergan’s National Exchange Forum, where she has served as a faculty member, teaching Botox Cosmetic injection techniques.
Cosmetics procedures that Dr. Downie specializes include state-of- the-art lasers for treatment of scars, wrinkles, broken blood vessels, brown spots and laser hair removal. She uses sclerotherapy for the removal of unsightly leg veins. Collagen,
Perlane, Juvederm ,Sculptra, Restylane, Radiesse and Botox treatments are used in her practice for the elimination of facial lines and wrinkles, and glycolic, salicylic and trichloracetic acid peels provide facial rejuvenation. She uses the Fraxel laser to perform total facial and body resurfacing for acne scars, stretch marks,
melasma, photoaging and brown spots. She also performs skin cancer surgery and mole removal. Additionally, Dr. Downie offers her patients a complete line of skin care products chosen for their quality and superior results that are specially formulated for patients’ individualized skin care needs.
Dr. Downie is a philanthropist and is very involved with the United Negro College Fund, The American Red Cross, The Essex County Mental Health Society, The Southern Poverty Law Center, Dress for Success, The Junior League, Public Broadcasting Services, The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and several other local charities.
Credentials
Dr. Downie is a graduate of Tufts University, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Psychology. She then attended American University and received her Masters of Arts in Biology with a concentration in Reproductive Endocrinology.
Dr. Downie completed two years of Pediatric Residency at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and did research at The Rockefeller University.
She then completed a three-year Dermatology Residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City and was also the Chief Resident. She is on staff at Mountainside and Overlook Hospitals and has published twelve scientific papers.

Dr. Downie passions include lecturing around the world on effective skin care products and procedures. Dr. Downie focuses a great deal of her energy on
sun block protection. Her personal goals are steep and include trying to decrease the incidence of skin cancer through raising awareness about
sun block protection.
